An effort inspired by Picasso's masterpiece "Guernica"
International Competition and award for the best work of art to commemorate the COVID reign of terror
Fear No Evil and Green Liberty PAC offer a cash reward for the best work of art to be selected in an international competition to commemorate the COVID reign of terror. We encourage artists to draw inspiration from Pablo Picasso’s masterpiece “Guernica.”
Picasso’s Guernica (1937) is a massive painting that he feverishly painted to commemorate the horrific bombing of the town of Guernica in Spain that was undertaken as part of the fascist assault on democratic government.
“Guernica” captured the horrors of war in an essential sense that moved millions around the world. Fear No Evil and Green Liberty invite artists around the world to submit proposals for a work of art (painting, sculpture, or other medium) that similarly captures the horror, the suffering, and the universal pathos of the COVID 19 reign of terror under which a form of silent and insidious fascism spread around the world.
Fear No Evil and Green Liberty will offer a prize of $50 USD to the best work of art (and will increase the prize money if we can get other contributions).
Although we cannot support all proposals for commemorative works of art, we encourage artists to create their works and display them in their own neighborhoods, in their own countries.
Possible themes to be treated in the work of art include:
Please send your proposal, with initial sketches to Emanuel Pastreich (independent candidate for president and founding member of Green Liberty PAC) at epastreich@protonmail.com.
