A good discussion, friends. We’ve been circling the same question: how do we make a presidential campaign that actually breaks through? Emmanuel sees the need. We see the need. But the Green Party, as an institution, is not going to lead on this – I know because I tried for years.
So here is my proposal: stop waiting for the party and build the movement ourselves.
I’ve taken the Framework for Restorative Justice: Ending the War Economy I created, which is excellent on policy, and modified it into an independent, trans-partisan movement campaign. It keeps everything that works (NEED Act, reparations, parity pricing, GPI) but removes the internal party language and adds:
• A Theory of Change that builds external power through coalition (AMI, AFJM, Move to Amend, Indigenous groups) – not party permission.
• A clear sequence: monetary reform first, then deeper transformation. This is the lesson from my years at The Farm: you cannot build a moneyless society under a debt money system.
• Why now urgency: $34 trillion debt, $800 billion Pentagon, 70% of Americans say the economy is rigged.
• Action steps anyone can take: petition, local town halls, candidate pledges, direct action at the Fed.
This framework is ready to go. It is not another internal resolution. It is a campaign blueprint. I will post it to those of you that I have email addresses for.
I am proposing that we, this group, adopt this framework as the organizing document for Emmanuel’s campaign and for a broader movement that will continue whether or not the Green Party endorses it. Emmanuel, if you are willing to make the NEED Act your top legislative priority, not a footnote, this framework gives you the platform, the allies, and the messaging.
Here is what I need from you:
1. Read the modified framework (I will share the full text).
2. Say yes or no to adopting it as our collective campaign outline.
3. If yes, let’s assign roles: who builds the petition, who contacts AMI/AFJM, who organizes the first “Money & War” town hall, who drafts the candidate pledge.
The legislation is written. Allies exist. The only missing piece is us, acting together, outside the party apparatus, with clarity and courage.
Also, the BMRC has a website outside the party, Greens for Monetary Reform at greens.money, and hopefully Tom can get the keys so we can use it to promote a movement for lasting change.
