OpenAI vis DeepSeek: A showdown between the great powers for suckers

Lots of posts on the Internet today suggesting that the new Chinese AI system DeepSeek is a real alterative for AI that is different from the Western model, specifically that of OpenAI. After all, we are told, DeepSeek is free and open source. Suddenly DeepSeek in China offers a real alternative to the war mongering and decadent America—even though I had never heard about it until this news campaign was launched yesterday. Although DeepSeek might be better than the criminal OpenAI, most likely this whom campaign is a trick. The billionaires in DC and in Beijing are on the same page about weaponizing technology to destroy civil society.

The New Cold War is for your consumption and for their profits. The tale, part true and part false, of competition between China and the US in AI is meant as a way to lure you into drinking the sweet poison.

AI is a bogus term for the use of computers to dumb down humanity and to shift the decision-making process from imperfect, but semi-transparent institutions like government, newspapers and magazines, universities and research centers, or NGOs and political parties to completely opaque supercomputer farms where "scientific" answers are offered up through the black box that conform with the needs of the super-rich and are, and then presented to the dumbed-down population as a scientific oracle that cannot be questioned by the unwashed. Inducing dependency on AI is a sure way to make the population passive, rigid in thinking, emotional, and incapable of comprehending long-term trends.

We are being force fed AI around the globe for the purpose of destroying our ability to resist, or to think for ourselves. Liberation comes with an alliance of concerned citizens in China, in the United States, in Europe, and everywhere who want to get back to science, to get away from technology. Citizens must think for themselves even if that means going for walks in the forest or writing out essays in long-hand.
