Having a President with morals and a willingness to talk about the crimes of our unelected world leaders and do something about it would be wonderful, no doubt. I wrote a song about...

HIROSHIMA

Somebody had the idea that it would be okay

to build a bomb that could blow a whole city away

so, they set aside their hearts and they set about the task

a few knew they would rule the world, they didn’t have to ask

A secret city in the hills of Eastern Tennessee

To make the poison heart of the bomb they didn’t need

Their patriotic workers would be sacrificial lambs

But they were just a tiny drop of the blood upon their hands

Hiroshima hear me now as sure as I’m alive

I don’t agree with what they did in 1945

The last battle of war was over by April

and the generals knew the war was at its end

But they had to see how many people they could kill

A slaughter they can’t morally defend

The bombing raids were in full swing by the month of May

Fire-bombing Japan’s cities with impunity

From little Tinian Island near the coast of Japan

While in defense Japan could not even raise a hand

Hiroshima hear me now as sure as I’m alive

I don’t agree with what they did in 1945

Early morning August 6th Enola Gay

Lifted off with Little Boy hidden in her bay

To one of the two cities that had been saved

For their special event so depraved

At 8:16 AM it exploded 2000 feet above Shima Hospital

yes, it disintegrated everybody there

The pilot said “It was all impersonal.”

Said they had to drop the bomb on Hiroshima

Said they’d save a half a million lives

But that was just another of their many lies

and a 140,000 there were vaporized

Hiroshima hear me now as sure as I’m alive

I don’t agree with what they did in 1945

There were GI’s held at Hiroshima and Nagasaki too

If you think it mattered you don’t know them like I do

The power hungry wealthy elite mad men of the West

Have the biggest bombs and their bombers are the best

And still today our country will not own up to the fact

That we blew off two whole cities nearly off the map

To impress the Russians that we would not sit still

for socialism had to go, see how many we can kill.

Hiroshima hear me now as sure as I’m alive

I don’t agree with what they did in 1945
