John the Baptist and Christ offered the Kingdom of the Heavens to Israel. Christ was born King. He was present with that generation of Israelites. Had they repented the nation would have become a Theocracy with the King in their midst. “Within you” is a misinterpretation. “In your midst” is accurate as this was not an offer to an individual. Nor is it to an individual Christian today. The Kingdom of the Heavens was then offered to the new creation in Christ. The church. It is to the Church, the corporate one new man that the Heavenly realm was offered. Individual Christians must qualify to receive their inheritance. That takes works.
Apart from that, the Church will be qualified to reign with Christ. From His throne. During the 7th Day. The Day of the Lord. Not until. For Christians to rule today in any governmental capacity is out of order. Before the time. That day will come. But it is yet future. Today the scepter of the government of this earth belongs to Satan. It remains his until Christ puts him down, takes his crown, scepter and rules with His Bride. Understand that and you can see that NO Christian today can engage in this present politicos. Our political life is a heavenly one. Don’t confuse the two. Making promises to believers about ruling today is a cruel false hope.
